THE WAY KIDS CAMP

Welcome Out on the Frontier

Where young ranch hands will learn what it really means to herd cattle, tend the land and have a ton of fun and adventure. From 9AM till 12PM, kids will join in singing, learning, playing, creating and snacking—all while building faith, fun and friendship!

Vancouver

North Vancouver

August 5-7

The Way Church North Vancouver
9AM - 12PM

Ranchers will each receive their own kit with the Crew Bandana (to be worn every day as a group identifier), stickers, and camp badge. Each day there’ll be an assortment of both healthy snacks and sweet treats.

On the last day we’ll have a free Chuckwagon Lunch for all the campers with their families to celebrate our time together, coordinate playdates with new friends, and enjoy some fun activities!

We have two camps this year to better serve our families in Vancouver and North Vancouver. Our hope is to bless each neighbourhood with a fun, affordable summer activity that builds friendship and faith! If possible, we invite you to select the camp that is in your neighbourhood, and invite a friend or two to get in on the fun!

FAQs

  • During registration, you can request names of friends your child would like to be with. We will do our best to accommodate, however we cannot guarantee that your request will be fulfilled.

  • The Way Kids Camp is for kids age 4 by July 22, 2026 - kids born in 2016 or going into grade 5.

  • While we would love to accommodate for this, we are creating an engaging, age-appropriate camp experience for kids who fall within the given categories. Our Safeguarding Policy requires that adult ratios and training increase for our youngest ones aged 0-3.

Kids must be 4 by July 22, 2026.

  • Of course! We are for the churches in our cities—we also invite you to let your Kids Pastor/church leadership email Joanna LeFave (joanna.lefave@thewaychurch.ca) to talk about partnering together and allowing trusted Kids Team Volunteers to apply to serve.

  • Refunds are available up until May 31, 2026. After this date, camper registration fees are only transferable. Please email joanna.lefave@thewaychurch.ca to begin the process.

Volunteer

We have a special Junior Youth LIT (Leaders-In-Training) program for pre-teens going into gr 6- 8 who would like to volunteer! Registration is required. Reach out to noah.gray@thewaychurch.ca for more info.

Any adult age 18+ who is interested, is invited to apply to serve using the same application system we use for our regular Sunday volunteers. This includes reference checks, Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector screening and an interview. Please see options below to begin the application process. Attendance at the Kids Camp Training Night rounds out the Volunteer plan.
Youth 16+ can apply to serve as Jr. Leaders, but will use a similar application process as adults.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Starting in the Summer, we will begin hosting evenings once a week at the church where volunteers can come out to North Van and help create engaging sets, prep craft materials, and pray for the campers and camp leaders.
*No volunteer application is needed to attend these nights

  • These are relational people—you don’t need to be a bubbly personality, we just ask that you care for the kids in your group! We need Small Group leaders who are kind and yet diverse in personality type and experience, just like the kids that will walk through our doors.

  • This team likes to dot their i’s and cross the t’s. They will help ensure a smooth process for kids on the first day. They enjoy organization and spreadsheets.

  • Food brings people together. The hospitality team will organize the snacks for the kids, leaders and other volunteers serving. They will shine brightest at the Family Chuckwagon Lunch, where we celebrate camp at the end of the week.

  • These are for folks who want to ensure our kids & volunteers stay safe. Watching doorways, helping ensure check-in and check-out are smooth and fun. Bonus points if you have first aid certification.

  • This team will spark fun and wonder as we invite kids to create and craft.

  • This team will foster play, teamwork and some healthy competition! Endless water refills included.

  • These people will help foster an engaging singing worship experience for the kids. They don’t take themselves too seriously and are happy to be seen.

  • These folks are task-oriented, and have a servant heart. They may not have capacity to be with kids for the week, but they want to bless the kids and families at our church.
