DISCIPLESHIP IN THE FIRST THREE CENTURIES
How the Early Church survived and thrived without the security of Christendom
Our one-day intensives with The Way College are designed to make meaningful, theological learning accessible and attainable for the wider church community. If you are interested in The Way College or engaging in theological studies, this is an opportunity to go deeper in your learning, while just getting a taste of what being a full-time student could be like.
Join Jerry Sittser in this thought-provoking one day, 4-part lecture series as he uncovers how the early Church built a resilient, identity-rich “thick culture” rather than relying on material artifacts or visible institutions like the Church has today.
This one-day intensive will explore:
Why the absence of Christian relics tells a powerful story
How Christians created a deep cultural identity in the shadows
What this means for faith communities today under pressure
How did early Christians not just survive—but thrive—for 300 years under Roman and Jewish oppression? From the silence of ancient sites like Ephesus and Pergamum to the hidden strength of early believers, discover the extraordinary, often overlooked strategies that fuelled the Christian movement’s explosive growth.
