Job Description
We are looking for a creative, curious, and motivated individual who is passionate about developing their storytelling skills through video. This role is ideal for someone who loves capturing meaningful moments, highlighting our church’s life, and learning how to shape stories that inspire and connect people. As a Videographer & Content Creator, you will work alongside our existing media and communications team to help tell the stories unfolding in our city and community. From concept to final cut, you’ll have opportunities to grow your skills in direction, shooting, editing, and post-production. This is a hands-on, mentorship-focused role designed to help you expand your technical abilities and build confidence in visual storytelling.
This role is supported through the Canada Summer Jobs program, which helps young people gain meaningful work experience while developing valuable skills.
Eligible applicants must meet the Canada Summer Jobs program requirementsat the time of hire.
Details
Employment Type: Full-time: 30 hours per week, for a fixed short-term (10 weeks).
Location: The Way Church Ministry Centre (1155 Thurlow St, Vancouver, BC).
Salary: $22 hourly
Responsibilities
Edit footage, assemble timelines, and help finalize videos for multi-platform use.
Capture video content of events, programs, and stories.
Prepare content for various formats—including social media posts, reels, stories, and longer-form videos.
Collaborate with a supportive, skilled team who will help you grow in technical and creative areas.
Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and community-oriented work environment.
What you’ll learn
This position provides mentorship and practical skill-building in:
Camera operation, lighting, and audio capture
Creative direction and storyboarding
Video editing and post-production workflows
Content adaptation for digital and social platforms
Working collaboratively within a media team
Effective storytelling with real community impact
Qualifications
Passionate about storytelling and eager to grow as a videographer.
Creative, adaptable, and excited to try new techniques.
Comfortable working with people and capturing authentic moments.
Willing to learn from a supportive team and contribute to collaborative projects.
Competent with basic video or photo tools (helpful but not required—training is provided).
Eligible for the Canada Summer Jobs program.
