If you’re planning to give in the future, you can fill out a pledge form. Pledging allows our team to plan accurately as we launch these projects in a timely and responsible way.
Since The Way Church began in 2020 we've carried a deep conviction to be a church that strengthens, invests in, and builds the church across Canada.
01
Raising up leaders for the church
-
Now entering its fifth year, our Ministry Internship is helping shape a new generation of leaders for the Canadian Church. More than 20 young men and women have moved through this program, gaining real, hands-on ministry experience alongside The Way staff, deepening their sense of vocational calling, and building the skills to serve faithfully for a lifetime. Five interns are currently in the program; we hope to welcome six new applicants for the 2026/2027 year.
-
In Fall 2026, we plan to pilot a new masters-level program with a small cohort of leaders, with our first public intake anticipated for Fall 2027. We believe that theologically formed leaders change churches—and that changed churches change nations.
-
This fall, we welcome Josh Thompson and his family to The Way staff for a dedicated season of training, formation, and preparation for church planting. As our pastor-in-residence, Josh will be immersed in the life and rhythms of our church as he prepares to plant a new congregation in the heart of downtown Edmonton in 2028.
02
Equipping pastors and churches
-
In partnership with The Pastorate, The Way Church will help host a first-ever national pastors gathering. In May 2027, we are planning to welcome approximately 500 pastors and their teams to Vancouver for three days of equipping, encouragement, and renewal.
-
We continue to make space for pastors and leaders from across the country who are seeking wisdom, resources, and connection. From sermon series and discipleship tools to direct conversations with our team, we are committed to being a church that gives generously to the broader church in Canada.

Church multiplication and revitalization
-
In 2028, Josh Thompson will plant a new church in the downtown core of Edmonton—and this year, through our pastor-in-residence program, we are investing into his preparation for that mission.
-
We are increasingly convicted that faithful growth means bringing The Way to new neighbourhoods. We are actively working toward the launch of a new site in the Fairview/Kitsilano area by September 2027—creating another space where people can encounter Jesus, find genuine community, and grow in their faith.
-
Church spaces across Vancouver are quietly disappearing as aging congregations and buildings age out of use. We believe these spaces should be reclaimed—not lost—as homes for vibrant communities of faith. To that end, we are launching an advisory team with a mandate to raise capital funds to acquire these spaces for future sites of The Way and new church plants, ensuring that neighbourhoods across our city have a place where the Church can gather for generations to come.
