About

APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2026/2027 INTERNSHIP ARE NOW CLOSED.

As a church, we aim to continually invest in the next generation of Canadian leaders — identifying, developing, & sending out young ministers for the sake of our city and nation.

The Ministry Internship program providess individuals who feel a call toward vocational ministry hands-on experience working with The Way Church team. Successful applicants join our staff team for 12 months, learning and putting skills into practice as they discern a call toward full-time ministry.

The internship includes a job description built around the needs of the church and the gifts of the individual, ongoing development through mentorship, access to The Way College classes, and meaningful opportunities to participate in the life of the church.

We are looking for young leaders who have a deep love for Jesus and the church in Canada, and have graduated post-secondary or have four+ years of ministry experience.

Engage in Specific Areas of Ministry

This is the 20 hours per week of practical ministry experience you'll be paid for — attending meetings, coordinating activities, and supporting Sunday and midweek ministries. Throughout the year, you'll also complete 1–2 projects, such as event planning or content creation, with goals set in collaboration with your manager.

Mentorship

Mentorship is primarily experienced in a small group setting where you're given the opportunity to discuss your internship experience and ask questions about ministry. This includes meetings, lunches with pastoral team members, and regular meetings with your manager.

Theological Minsitry Development

Interns will grow in theological knowledge and ministry development through engaging in weekly staff meetings, auditing one course with The Way College, and attending weekly college chapels.

Hear From Past Interns

"It was an honour for me to join this wonderful ministry team as I have grown spiritually and learned how to practically apply my gifts. Before applying, I was searching for an opportunity to commit myself to vocational ministry. When I found out about this internship, the Lord led me to apply. God has opened this door to serve him this year as I have dedicated my time and learning. I had the opportunity to give and contribute in my small way to The Way church community, while being able to receive and grow in my character and personal calling. This experience has been very formative for me and I will be forever grateful to God that he has led me here."

— Gabri Grasso (23/24 Intern)
"The Ministry Internship was the perfect setting to explore what full-time ministry could look like for me. I was able to work both within my giftings & strengths, whilst being challenged and stretched in areas I hadn't yet explored, culminating in a rich learning experience. The staff at The Way consistently inspired me in my discipleship to Jesus and love for His church, allowing a safe space for personal wrestles, spiritual growth, and conviction to be developed. The internship deepened my love for the local church, re-ignited my heart for vocational ministry, and broadened my view of the body of Christ."

— Rebekah Francis (23/24 Intern)
"The internship has given me space to wrestle through what vocational ministry can look like in my life, while giving me opportunity to work alongside an experienced team whose love for Jesus is so evident. My faith has been deeply enriched through personal engagement with the church as a whole, and through meaningful relationships on the team. Alongside my spiritual growth, I have seen my skillset grow and be sharpened over the weeks and months. I cannot emphasize enough what a gift this internship has been!"

— Noah Gray (23/24 Intern)
