“Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him.” Colossians 2:7

It’s no secret that our church has seen some significant growth since we first started three and a half years ago. In fact, if you read our recent Annual report, you know that we saw 44 percent growth across our three locations in 2023. That’s pretty wild.

We want you to know that as the church has grown, we’ve paid close attention. After all, not all growth is healthy. Increased numbers do not necessarily mean success and bigger isn’t always better. What, then, constitutes good growth? Simply put, we believe that healthy growth is marked more by depth than breadth. We deeply desire to be a people who grow deep in both our individual and communal walks with Christ.

As our church has grown, it has been our team's joy and an answer to many prayers to watch and listen as our community is growing deep in the things that matter.

Here are just a few things I’ve heard about lately that have left me encouraged and excited:

  • Discipleship is happening in one-on-one relationships.

  • Friendships are deepening.

  • Confession is taking place in safe spaces.

  • People are getting baptized.

  • Prayer groups are happening on their own initiative.

  • Meals are being shared together.

  • A running club has started in North Vancouver.

  • A women’s group in Kitsilano is meeting regularly.

  • Followers of Jesus are being formed.

  • Communities within our community are being built around the person of Jesus and it’s amazing. God is on the move—we are growing deeper. And we are so grateful.

That’s all for now, friends. Keep growing deep in Jesus!

So much love and esteem for you all,
Elita
