Giving together in Jesus’ name.
Vision
The Month of Generosity is an annual invitation for The Way Church community to gather around the value of generosity, to give together in Jesus name as we highlight and celebrate the work of our local, national, and global partners.
We are highlighting several organizations that focus on a wide variety of social needs and ministry initiatives. Throughout this month, we will hear from our partners during Sunday services, intentionally intercede for our city, nation, and world in our weekly prayer gatherings, and participate in opportunities with our partners that invite us into the meaningful work they do.
Our hope is that, as a church, we give financially to organizations and individuals that are responding effectively to areas of need in our city and world, joining Jesus in His mission of renewal.
Pastoral Word
At The Way Church we are committed to the flourishing and health of partner organizations and ministries that are doing good work in our city, country and around the world. Our desire is to be a church that is radically generous and willing to invest sacrificially in the work of our partners. The Month of Generosity is our opportunity to do it together.
We are beyond grateful for the many individuals who give consistently to the work of The Way Church and our day-to-day ministry in the city of Vancouver. Without your generosity we couldn’t create spaces like Alpha and Freedom Session, invest so significantly in the next generation, or engage in multiplication and leadership developement. Thank you so much!
During the Month of Generosity, we are inviting everyone in our community to prayerfully consider what joyful giving above and beyond our regular financial contribution might look like, believing together the words of Jesus, “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35).
Generosity is like a muscle we strengthen the more we use it. Giving is an act of faith in God as our provider. It is a formative practice that opens our own hands to receive from the Lord and give to others—mirroring God’s own generous nature. As someone once said, “we are the most like God when we are giving!”
We believe we can do more together so The Month of Generosity is a communal practice where we partner with God as a church: young and old, different income brackets, singles and families—whether we give one dollar or ten-thousand—all growing in generosity, increasingly becoming an open-handed people in a culture constantly tempted by a tight-fisted, scarcity mindset.
Thank you so much for your willingness to be involved!
