Job Description
The Graphic Designer & Media Coordinator is responsible for cultivating teams and bringing creative concepts to life—designing high-quality visual content across print, digital, social, web, and environmental platforms. This role blends graphic design work, no-code web development, project coordination, and team building. You’ll collaborate with ministry leaders, creative team members, and volunteers to produce compelling media that communicates our vision with beauty and excellence.

Contract Length: Full-time (40 hrs/week)
Location: The Way Church Offices (101-1155 Thurlow St, Vancouver BC)
Salary Range: $50,000 to $65,000, based on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities
Graphic Design
Create and adapt visual assets for print, digital, web, and environmental mediums (print, social media, website, email, signage, stage design, etc.).
Develop brand-aligned designs for events, sermon series, and campaigns.
Maintain and evolve The Way Church’s visual identity guidelines.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in graphic design, and incorporate them into our design processes.
Web Design & Maintenance
Design, update, and maintain The Way Church’s online presence using no-code platforms (Framer, Squarespace).
Ensure the website is visually engaging, mobile-responsive, easy to navigate, and up-to-date with current content.
Collaborate with ministry leaders to keep event pages, forms, and key information accurate and aligned with church branding.
Coordinate the integration of video, motion, animation and other creative elements.
Graphical Media Coordination
Oversee production timelines for visual projects; across web, print, and digital mediums.
Manage relationships with printers, vendors, and external creatives as needed.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
Creative Team Collaboration
Work closely with the Creative Director, Art Director, creative team, and ministry leaders to plan and prioritize projects.
Support the volunteer creative/media team by providing design resources, feedback, coaching, and oversight.
Sunday & Event Support
Prepare visual media for Sunday services and other gatherings (slides, occasional motion graphics, print pieces, etc.).
Assist with special event creative needs, including lobby installations, signage, and environmental design.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Proven experience as a Graphic Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design projects.
Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign; Premiere, After Effects a plus).
Strong portfolio demonstrating creative versatility and attention to detail.
Familiarity with no-code web design platforms (Framer, Squarespace, etc.).
Understanding of branding principles and ability to design within established guidelines.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication & interpersonal skills—able to present work, receive feedback, collaborate, and serve others well.
Ability to audit & be mindful of content and copy in the design process.
Philosophically aligned with The Way Church’s mission, focus, and strategy.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in branding, art direction, and marketing is a plus.
Photography, videography, illustration, and motion design skills are an asset.
Familiarity with ProPresenter, Mailchimp, DaVinci Resolve is a plus.
Ability to adapt to new tools and methodologies in a rapidly evolving design landscape.
Experience in a church or non-profit context is a plus.
